How I Work

If you have never had counselling before then the prospect can be daunting. Please be reassured that the whole process is led by you. It will go at your speed and you can decide what to talk about. Plus I am completely open to feedback ‘good’ or ‘bad’ every stage of the way. It is very much a collaborative process. We will work together to get you to where you want to be.

My role is not to fix you – mainly because I do not believe that you are broken! What I will provide is a qualified, calm, non-judgemental companion on a journey of your choosing. We can look at thoughts, feelings and behaviours to ensure that your future choices are in line with your values. I will encourage self-compassion every step of the way.

The first step is to get in touch via email or phone. We will then establish a time for a 15 minute call (Zoom or phone).

At that point you can decide whether you want to continue with future sessions. There will be no pressure and you do not have to decide on the spot. You can come back to me at a later date if you prefer.

We can then set up regular sessions on Zoom, ideally weekly, but fortnightly is possible. There are no minimum or maximum number of sessions. It is completely up to you.

Although I live in the Beccles and Bungay area near the Norfolk and Suffolk border, online sessions mean I can work with you wherever you are in the UK.
